Settimo: the flavours of Rome above Villa Borghese
A seventh floor between park and domes
The Sofitel Rome Villa Borghese stands in the Ludovisi district, a few dozen metres from Via Veneto and on the edge of the gardens of Villa Borghese. Its top floor, the seventh, is home to Settimo: a light-filled dining room extended by a terrace where the plants echo the neighbouring park. From there, the view takes in the tops of the umbrella pines, Villa Medici, the terracotta roofs and the domes of the historic centre, with St Peter's Basilica standing out against the horizon.
Roman cuisine revisited
In the kitchen, chef Giuseppe D'Alessio revisits the city's classics with local, seasonal produce: homemade tonnarelli, supplì served with crispy courgette flowers and pecorino sauce, Roman-style veal saltimbocca or a platter of Italian cheeses. Some dishes take a more international detour, such as tempura vegetables lifted by a sweet-and-sour note.
A lounge for aperitifs
Settimo is also a lounge bar: at sunset, guests settle in for a glass of champagne or a signature cocktail served with a few bites. The wine list sets Italy and France in dialogue, with rare champagnes, proseccos and wines from the Rome area. You can choose your seat on the terrace or in the lounge, among the plants and mosaic floors.

The terrace is open all year round. The bar welcomes guests every day from noon (12.30pm at weekends) to 12.30am; the restaurant serves from noon to 11.30pm, after breakfast in the morning.
