AcquaRoof Terrazza Molinari: seafood and cocktails above the rooftops of the Tridente

A terrace at the top of The First Arte

The First Roma Arte is a charming hotel in the Tridente district, on Via del Vantaggio, a short walk from Piazza del Popolo and Via del Corso. Its roof, on the sixth floor, is home to AcquaRoof Terrazza Molinari, a partly sheltered space lined with planters and furnished with light-coloured armchairs. The view sweeps around the historic centre: tiled roofs, bell towers and domes, including that of St Peter's in the distance, with the Tiber flowing a few streets away.

A seafood bistro

The kitchen puts fish in the spotlight: raw dishes, oysters and caviar, fresh pasta with basil pesto or creamy salt cod with black truffle make up a Mediterranean menu served at both lunch and dinner. For special occasions, the hotel is also home to a fine-dining restaurant, Acquolina, awarded two stars by the Michelin Guide.

Aperitivo, Molinari style

The terrace is named after the Molinari company, known for its sambuca, which features in several house cocktails. The menu also includes many signature creations, a selection of Italian and international sparkling wines and drinks that change with the seasons. At sunset, the spot becomes an elegant meeting place for aperitivo, and the terrace can also be booked for private events.

Practical information

AcquaRoof is open every day, from 12.30pm to 2.30pm for lunch and from 6pm in the evening, until 12.30am. Bookings are taken online only. Access is through the hotel, at Via del Vantaggio 14. Flaminio station (Metro line A) is about ten minutes' walk away, with Spagna a little further. The venue is accessible to people with reduced mobility.
