7th Floor Terrace: Rome at your feet from the Hassler
At the top of the Spanish Steps
The Hassler enjoys a rare position: set at the top of the steps of Trinità dei Monti, right next to the church, it overlooks Piazza di Spagna and the shopping streets that run towards Via del Corso. Its top floor is home to a panoramic terrace open to all, where the eye roams over the domes, bell towers, ancient ruins and tiled roofs of the historic centre, as far as the dome of St Peter's on the horizon.
From a light lunch to an evening cocktail
The terrace is lively at all hours: a light lunch, an afternoon coffee break, then an aperitivo as golden light spreads over the city. The bar menu lines up martinis, great classics and house creations, most of them between €24 and €26, a few low-alcohol cocktails and a fine selection of wines by the glass, including several labels from Lazio. A savoury menu accompanies the drinks, for nibbling or for extending the evening at the table.
Social at Seven evenings
Since summer 2025, the hotel has been hosting themed aperitivo evenings called Social at Seven on this terrace: from 7pm, a guest chef or a world cuisine is paired with the cocktails, and each evening ends with music. Dates are announced as the season goes on.
Practical information
Access is through the hotel, at Piazza della Trinità dei Monti 6, where a lift takes you up to the seventh floor. Spagna station (Metro line A) is a few minutes' walk away, at the foot of the steps. Opening hours are not published: it is best to book online or call +39 06 699 34 750, especially for a table at sunset. Prices are those of a luxury hotel, but the view over the Eternal City alone is worth the climb.
