Radio Rooftop Bar: Porta Nuova opposite, Milan at your feet
Two terraces on the tenth floor
Between Centrale station and the Porta Nuova business district, the ME Milan Il Duca hotel occupies the corner of piazza della Repubblica. Its roof is home to Radio Rooftop Bar, reached through a dedicated entrance on via Marco Polo and a direct lift to the tenth floor.
The venue is split between two indoor rooms and two terraces. The first, called City View, faces the towers of Porta Nuova and the spire of the UniCredit Tower; the second overlooks piazza della Repubblica. On clear days, the hotel even promises a glimpse of the Alps. Thanks to its indoor rooms, the bar operates all year round.
From lunch to DJ sets
Quiet during the day, the atmosphere livens up in the evening with DJ sets in summer, ranging from jazz to funk and hits from the 1980s and 1990s. Chef Claudio Sellitti's Mediterranean cuisine comprises some thirty dishes that change with the seasons, from ceviche to a wagyu burger. The cocktails reinvent the classics, and the cellar gives pride of place to wines and champagnes. A brunch is also available, by reservation. The terraces can be privatised for events.
Practical information
The rooftop welcomes the public from noon until late. Only lunch and brunch can be booked: for aperitivo, dinner or after-dinner drinks, just turn up, except for groups of ten or more. Expect to pay €10 to €18 for a cocktail. The hotel asks for smart attire. Metro M3 Repubblica, at the foot of the hotel, or Centrale station a few minutes' walk away.
To admire the Porta Nuova skyline with a drink in hand, Radio Rooftop Bar is the obvious choice.
