Terrazza Gallia: aperitivo facing Centrale station
The roof of a historic grand hotel
On piazza Duca d'Aosta, the Excelsior Hotel Gallia, a member of the Luxury Collection, faces the Stazione Centrale. On the seventh floor, Terrazza Gallia brings together a bar, a restaurant and a covered terrace looking down onto the square and the statues of the station. Further away, the towers of Milan take shape.
Here, the décor is understated: large woven sofas, potted plants and dark columns on the terrace side, a contemporary dining room on the restaurant side. The venue welcomes hotel guests and the public alike.
Cocktails and Italian cuisine
The bar focuses on aperitivo, with signature cocktails made with botanicals and small seasonal plates; it also has a lunch and dinner menu. In the restaurant, executive chef Vincenzo Lebano and chef de cuisine Andrea Calia Di Dio create cuisine that travels through the regions of Italy, listed in the Michelin Guide and awarded two forks by Gambero Rosso. A private room and the terrace can be booked for events, and in 2026 the terrace hosted “soft clubbing” mornings combining breakfast and a DJ set.
Practical information
The bar is open every day from 12.30pm to 12.30am. The restaurant serves from Tuesday to Saturday, from 12.30pm to 2.30pm and from 7.30pm to 10.30pm. Expect to pay around €20 for a cocktail. Reservations can be made by phone or online, and the venue is accessible to people with reduced mobility. Centrale station (lines M2 and M3) is right opposite the hotel, making it a handy address before or after a train.
For an elegant cocktail with the monumental façade of Centrale station as a backdrop, Terrazza Gallia is a safe bet.
