Ceresio 7: pools and cocktails facing Porta Nuova
A roof that has become an institution
On via Ceresio, a stone's throw from the Cimitero Monumentale, a historic building that once housed Enel's offices is now home to the headquarters of the fashion house Dsquared2. Its fourth and top floor was transformed in 2015 into a three-in-one venue: a restaurant, a cocktail bar and two open-air pools. Since then, the address has regularly featured in round-ups of Milan's terraces.
The two terraces look towards the skyscrapers of Porta Nuova and CityLife, with the UniCredit Tower and its spire as the focal point. The interior décor, by Dimore Studio, blends brass, marble and wood in a hushed retro atmosphere.
American Bar and Italian cuisine
The bar follows the tradition of the great American bars with an Italian touch: the menu features house creations at around €22, reinvented classics at €21 and alcohol-free cocktails at €18, with a few bites served at lunchtime. In the restaurant, chef Elio Sironi offers contemporary Italian cuisine, à la carte or with a €110 Signature menu, accompanied by a fine selection of champagnes.
In summer, the pools open for the day with a package including a sun lounger and drinks. The venue can also be privatised for dinners and corporate events.
Practical information
The bar is open every day from 12.30pm to 1am, the restaurant from 12.30pm to 3pm and from 7.30pm to 11pm. The pools operate from June to September, from 10am to 5.30pm, at a price of €125 per person (drinks included). Booking is strongly recommended, online or by phone. Monumentale station on metro line M5 is about 100 metres away, and a few paid parking spaces can be reserved.
For a chic aperitivo with the Milan skyline as a backdrop, Ceresio 7 remains a safe bet.
