Terrazza Triennale: Milan between park and skyscrapers
A glasshouse on the roof of design
The Palazzo dell'Arte, home to the Triennale Milano and its design and architecture exhibitions, borders Parco Sempione, just behind the Castello Sforzesco. On its roof, a long glass-walled room extended by a wooden terrace houses Terrazza Triennale, open to the public at lunch and dinner.
The 360-degree view is one of the venue's highlights: the treetops of the park in the foreground, the towers of the Castello Sforzesco, Gio Ponti's Torre Branca close by and, on the horizon, the new skyline of the Porta Nuova and CityLife skyscrapers.
Tommaso Arrigoni's Milanese cuisine
Since late 2023, chef Tommaso Arrigoni, founder of the restaurant Innocenti Evasioni, which earned him a Michelin star, has brought his cooking here. The seasonal menu revisits recipes from Milan and Lombardy, with a tasting menu at around €60 and dishes such as risotto and tagliatelle. The bar serves signature cocktails and “meneghinas” at aperitivo time as well as after dinner. The spaces can be privatised for dinners and events.
Practical information
The terrace is open from noon to 3pm and from 5pm to 1am. It is best to book, by phone or email, especially for dinner and sunset. As the dining room is glass-walled, the view can be enjoyed all year round. Access is via the Triennale entrance on viale Alemagna; Cadorna railway and metro station (lines M1 and M2) is about ten minutes' walk away through the park.
After an exhibition or a stroll in Parco Sempione, Terrazza Triennale offers a rare view over the park's greenery.
