Etereo: the Duomo just a cocktail away
A roof designed by Patricia Urquiola
Opened in summer 2024 at the top of Casa Brera, a Luxury Collection hotel on piazzetta Bossi, between La Scala and the Brera district, Etereo occupies the eighth and top floor. Designer Patricia Urquiola has created a pink-toned dining room, a long marble counter and two outdoor terraces sheltered under red parasols.
The panorama takes in much of the city centre: on one side, the spires of the Duomo and the dome of the Galleria; on the other, the Castello Sforzesco and, further away, the skyscrapers of Porta Nuova. The rooftop pool, however, is reserved for hotel guests.
A cocktail list inspired by the neighbourhoods
Each cocktail pays tribute to a Milan neighbourhood, from Brera to Isola, with alcohol-free versions; expect to pay €24 for a house creation. In the kitchen, executive chef Antonio Gentile has created a contemporary Italian menu with Campanian accents, featuring raw seafood and sharing plates. The venue serves breakfast, lunch, aperitivo and dinner, as well as a brunch with a DJ set on Sundays.
Practical information
Etereo is open every day, from 7am to 11am for breakfast, then all day from 12.30pm to midnight. Booking is recommended, online or by phone, especially at sunset. The dress code is casual chic. As the terraces are open-air, they may close in bad weather, while the indoor room stays open. Cordusio station (M1) is about 300 metres away, Duomo (M1, M3) a few minutes' walk.
For a drink facing the cathedral after a show at La Scala, Etereo is an elegant address in the heart of Brera.
