Sphere Tim Raue: Berlin in 360 degrees from the TV Tower
A revolving restaurant in the tower's sphere
A symbol of East Berlin opened in 1969, the TV Tower on Alexanderplatz houses a restaurant in its sphere, 207 metres up. The dining room, renovated in a 1970s spirit with cognac-coloured armchairs and a glass-walled wine cellar, slowly revolves: two full turns an hour. Over the course of a meal, the Brandenburg Gate, the Reichstag, Museum Island and, in the distance, the Olympic Stadium glide past the large slanted windows.
The cuisine of Berlin and Brandenburg
The menu revisits Berlin classics: solyanka, veal Königsberger Klopse, schnitzel, Toast Hawaii, meatballs or currywurst. Main courses range from €27 to €36. Several packages combine entry to the tower with a meal: breakfast, a currywurst or schnitzel lunch, and a seasonal menu with drinks, at around €130 to €155 depending on the period. Some packages include a dedicated children's dish.
One floor below, on the observation deck, the Sphere Bar serves drinks and snacks at 203 metres; you can head there after your meal.
