AMANO Rooftop Bar: evening drinks facing the TV Tower
The roof of the very first AMANO hotel
Opened in 2009, Hotel AMANO is the founding house of the Berlin group of the same name. It stands on the corner of Auguststraße and Rosenthaler Straße, between Rosenthaler Platz, Torstraße and the galleries of the Scheunenviertel. When the warm weather arrives, its ground-floor bar takes over the roof as well.
The terrace, about 240 m², is lined with sofas, high tables and planters beneath strings of light bulbs. To the south-east, the TV Tower on Alexanderplatz stands out above the rooftops of Mitte, so clearly that it seems almost within reach. The most sought-after moment is still sunset, when the sky turns pink and then midnight blue.
Rosé, highballs and small plates
In 2026, the rooftop is dressed in pink through a partnership with Whispering Angel, the Provence rosé from Château d'Esclans: rosés and a white by the glass at €6 or €7, highballs and a selection of signature cocktails from the AMANO Bar, whose menu hovers around €13 to €14. To nibble on, a short menu offers sourdough bread with olive oil, marinated vegetables, watermelon and feta salad or a mortadella and pistachio sandwich, from €3.50 to €8.
The terrace can be hired exclusively for receptions of up to 150 people. Over-18s only, no dress code; dogs are welcome.
Practical information
Open from May to September, weather permitting: Monday to Wednesday from 4pm to 12.30am, Thursday and Friday from 4pm to 2am, Saturday from 2pm to 2am, Sunday from 2pm to 12.30am. In bad weather, the ground-floor AMANO Bar takes over on Fridays and Saturdays from 7pm. Bookings by phone or email during the season. The terrace is not wheelchair accessible. U-Bahn: Rosenthaler Platz (U8), a few steps away.
