A boutique hotel near Hackescher Markt
Große Präsidentenstraße is a quiet street, just a few steps from Hackescher Markt, the Spree and the Museumsinsel. This is where the AMANO group set up Hotel ZOE, a boutique hotel in dark and golden tones. Every summer, the hotel bar leaves the ground floor and moves up to the roof.
At around 80 m², the terrace keeps things on a human scale: wooden benches piled with cushions, sun loungers, parasols and potted palms create a setting somewhere between country club and urban beach club. Opposite, the TV Tower and the buildings of Alexanderplatz fill the whole horizon; the view is at its finest at the end of the day, when the low-angled light falls on the tower.
House cocktails and highballs
The summer menu focuses on a few house creations, such as the Zoe's Kiss (vodka, cherry, lemon, coconut) or the arak-based Pink Temptation, at €11 or €12. Then come spritzes, highballs and classic long drinks, as well as German, Italian and Israeli wines by the glass and alcohol-free highballs at €8.
The roof can be hired for a drinks reception or a small party of up to 70 guests. Over-18s only, casual dress; dogs are allowed.
Practical information
Open from May to September, weather permitting: Thursday and Friday from 4pm to 10pm, Saturday to Monday from 3pm to 10pm; closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. In bad weather, the ground-floor ZOE Bar welcomes guests from Tuesday to Saturday from 6pm. Bookings by phone, email or via OpenTable. The terrace is not wheelchair accessible. S-Bahn: Hackescher Markt (S3, S5, S7, S9), very close by.
