360° OCEAN SKY: Vienna in 360 degrees from a flak tower
At the top of Haus des Meeres
In Esterházy Park, just off Mariahilfer Straße, stands one of the flak towers built during the Second World War. Today it houses Haus des Meeres, an aquarium and tropical zoo, and its top level is home to the 360° OCEAN SKY restaurant and bar. A panoramic lift leaves from the ground floor and goes straight up to the 11th floor: there is no need to buy a zoo ticket to enjoy it.
Up top, a bright dining room and a terrace of around 350 m² wrap around the building. By day or by night, the eye roams over the rooftops of Mariahilf and Neubau, the church towers of the centre, the Prater Ferris wheel and the towers of Donau City, all the way to the hills of the Vienna Woods.
From breakfast to dinner
Every day, the restaurant serves several breakfast options, with coffee and homemade cakes; in fine weather, you can have it on the terrace. In the evening, the kitchen offers reinterpreted European classics, while the bar mixes cocktails, long drinks, wines and alcohol-free drinks. It is also an ideal stop after a visit to the aquarium.
For special occasions
The restaurant hosts New Year's Eve parties and even offers a package for marriage proposals. For a sunset dinner, booking is strongly recommended.
