A 1920s building turned into a hotel
Built in the late 1920s on Plaza del Ayuntamiento, the former Telefónica building has been restored in an Art Deco spirit. Since 2025 it has housed the Grand Hotel Centenari, a five-star hotel in Marriott's Autograph Collection. On the ground floor is the Soul of 1927 bistro; right at the top, on the seventh floor, its terrace: The Rooftop.
The location is the main draw. The roof faces the City Hall and the Post Office building, and the square spreads out just below. Fringed parasols, bougainvillea, light-coloured furniture and a glass balustrade create an elegant setting, ideal at the hour when the light turns the façades golden.
Signature cocktails and a short menu
The drinks menu highlights half a dozen house cocktails at €17 to €18, classics such as the pisco sour or the white lady at €17 and spritzes at €14, complemented by wines, vermouths and a fine selection of spirits. A short menu of snacks and dishes means you can have dinner there. DJs liven up Friday and Saturday evenings.
Practical information
Access to the terrace requires a non-refundable €19 minimum-spend ticket, bought on arrival. The official website states that it is open every day from 7pm to 1am (kitchen until 11pm), but published opening hours vary depending on the source and the season: it is best to check before you go. According to the hotel, under-16s are not admitted. Metro: Xàtiva station (lines 3, 5 and 9), about 200 metres away, or Colón.
