BAHR & Terrace: the Tagus from Praça Camões
A restaurant and its terrace at the top of the Bairro Alto Hotel
The Bairro Alto Hotel occupies a building on Praça Luís de Camões, where the Chiado meets the Bairro Alto. On the 5th floor, BAHR brings together a dining room with bohemian-inspired decor, a counter bar and a terrace. The venue is open to hotel guests as well as to those coming from outside.
The terrace, with its red tables and woven armchairs, looks south-west: above the tiled roofs of the Chiado unfold the Tagus estuary, the 25 de Abril Bridge and the Cristo Rei statue on the opposite bank. At sunset, the spectacle alone is worth the trip up.
Creative Portuguese cuisine and house cocktails
In the dining room, the kitchen reinterprets Portuguese techniques, traditions and produce with a contemporary touch, at lunch (12.30pm–3.30pm) and at dinner (6.30pm–midnight). On the terrace, a seasonal menu of light dishes accompanies drinks throughout the day, and brunch is also served there.
The bar offers a list of signature cocktails between €16 and €20, spritzes and Portuguese wines; a vegan and coeliac-friendly menu is available on request.
