Park: the lofty garden of a Bairro Alto car park
A car park roof turned open-air bar
Nothing signals Park from Calçada do Combro, the sloping street that links the Chiado to Santa Catarina. You enter through a multi-storey car park: go up to the sixth and top level, where concrete gives way to a terrace planted with potted trees, planters full of greenery and rough wooden armchairs.
The reward lies at the end of the roof: over the tiles of Santa Catarina, the view stretches to the Tagus and the 25 de Abril Bridge, with the bell tower of a nearby church close at hand. At sunset, the place is often full, with Lisbon locals and visitors alike: it is best to arrive early to get an armchair facing the river.
Cocktails, light bites and DJs
Park serves cocktails and simple light bites, such as burgers, between drinks. Music plays an important role: DJs liven up the end of the day, with a programme focused on urban sounds, from hip-hop to tropical rhythms.
Even in winter, the bar stays open thanks to a covered area, heaters and blankets.
Practical information
The bar opens in the afternoon and closes late on weekdays, earlier on Sunday; opening hours change with the season, so it is best to check the Facebook page before coming. No booking option is advertised. Entrance via the car park at 58 Calçada do Combro, then up to the top level. Tram 28 runs along the street; Baixa-Chiado metro (blue and green lines) is about ten minutes' walk away.
