Verride Sunrise Terrace: the Tagus from a Santa Catarina palace
The roof of an 18th-century palace
Between the Chiado and Bica, the Verride Palácio de Santa Catarina occupies a restored 18th-century palace, right next to the Santa Catarina miradouro, the Adamastor viewpoint. The hotel has only 18 rooms, but its top level is open to visitors: this is the Verride Sunrise Terrace, its rooftop.
The terrace, sheltered by large sails and dotted with woven armchairs, overlooks the neighbourhood. The Tagus spreads out below the orange roofs of Santa Catarina, with the quays, the ferries and the south bank opposite; direct access to a lookout point completes the panorama towards the old town.
Signature cocktails and seasonal cuisine
The signature cocktails are named after Lisbon places (Bica, Tejo, Bairro Alto…) and cost €17, alongside the great classics and bottled negronis and old fashioneds. On the food side, you can pick from oysters, croquettes, Portuguese cheeses and charcuterie, salads, sandwiches and a few hot dishes, to share or not.
The palace also houses the fine-dining restaurant SUBA, recommended by the Michelin Guide, and private function rooms: the rooftop can be combined with the Tejo room for group lunches or dinners.
