White Raven Skybar & Lounge: the Danube seen from the Castle District
On the roof of the Hilton, next to Matthias Church
The Hilton Budapest sits at the heart of the Castle District, on Hess András tér, between Matthias Church and Fisherman's Bastion. Opened on its roof in summer 2022, White Raven Skybar & Lounge is an independent venue, open to everyone and not just hotel guests. As the building already stands on the hill, the view plunges down: the Danube and its bridges, Margaret Island, Parliament and St Stephen's Basilica on the opposite bank, with the glazed-tile roof of Matthias Church and the turrets of the Bastion close at hand.
Cocktails and bar bites
The menu highlights the COLORS signature cocktail collection, which captures the moods and colours of Budapest in a glass, as well as limited-edition creations, such as a cocktail inspired by a painting by a contemporary Hungarian artist. The classics are on the menu too, along with a fine selection of champagnes and wines. From the kitchen come refined bar bites, with vegetarian and vegan options. In season, the bar hosts events, including a party for the 20 August fireworks that sells out every year.
A seasonal terrace
The skybar opens from late spring to early autumn, with shorter hours at the end of the season. The terrace is only partly covered, so the weather can affect a booking. To get up, take the lifts in the hotel lobby to the 6th floor, then a second lift to the roof, which is accessible to people with reduced mobility. Children are welcome; animals are not admitted, with the exception of assistance dogs.
Practical information
In October 2026, open daily from noon to 8pm; in high season, evenings run until midnight. Classic cocktails at 5,900 Ft, signatures at 6,900 Ft; a 13% service charge is added. Booking recommended online or on +36 30 676 2620, with a deposit for groups of five or more. Smart casual dress, no sportswear or flip-flops. Access: metro M2 to Széll Kálmán tér, then bus 16A to the Szentháromság tér stop.
