A rooftop facing the dome
Opened in 2025 at the top of the Radisson Collection Hotel, Basilica Budapest, ISSEI occupies the 6th floor of a building on St Stephen's Square (Szent István tér), in the Lipótváros district. Access is through the hotel lobby: the lift goes straight to the restaurant's reception. The basilica is so close that its dome and two bell towers fill almost the entire view, while the rooftops of Pest stretch all around. The terrace, decorated with plants and protected by shade sails, extends an air-conditioned indoor dining room.
Cuisine between Japan and Peru
The name pays tribute to the first generation of Japanese immigrants who settled in Peru at the end of the 19th century, whose cooking gave rise to the Nikkei style. The menu follows that spirit: sea bream ceviche with leche de tigre, tuna and octopus tiradito, crispy gyozas, uramakis, lomo saltado or Black Angus beef picanha, with bao and tacos to share. At the bar, the signature cocktails play with yuzu, pandan, papaya or passion fruit, alongside the great classics, from pisco sour to negroni, and house-made mocktails.
Good to know
The terrace is not fully covered and the indoor room has few seats: in bad weather, a booking may be moved. Children are welcome, with a menu designed for them. The rooftop can be hired for private events and hosts themed evenings.

Open all year round, Monday to Friday from 5pm to midnight, Saturday and Sunday from 2pm to midnight (last kitchen orders at 9.30pm, drinks until 10.45pm). Signature cocktails from 5,400 to 5,900 Ft; a 15% service charge is added to the bill. Booking recommended online or on +36 70 518 9739. No dress code.
