feNNen Skybar: a rooftop garden facing Parliament
A rooftop on the Buda side
The Kimpton BEM Budapest has moved into the restored former Radetzky Barracks on Bem József tér, on the Buda bank. Its rooftop bar, feNNen Skybar, occupies the hotel's roof. Most of the city's rooftops are on the Pest side and look towards Buda; here it is the other way round: the eye sweeps across the Danube to Parliament, then on to the rooftops and domes of Pest.
The decor plays the garden card: plants, lounge furniture and, in the centre, a bar shaped like a glass greenhouse that lets you enjoy the view even when the weather turns.
A short, inventive menu
The menu is split between reworked classics, such as a redcurrant and rhubarb negroni or a mezcal Midnight Mary, and house creations: the Bitter Harmony made with Unicum Riserva, Hungary's emblematic herbal liqueur, the Don Gatto with tequila and cardamom, or the Pistachio Paradox. Several alcohol-free and low-alcohol cocktails round out the offer, along with a selection of whiskies. Around sunset, DJs liven up the terrace, and dogs are welcome.
Book your slot
The bar works by reservation only, in two-hour slots. For groups of more than seven, you need to write to the team. Arriving a little before sunset lets you watch Parliament light up.
