Forza Wine Peckham: natural wine above Rye Lane
Forza Wine's original rooftop
The first venue from Forza Wine, which also has sites at the National Theatre and in Soho, this bar-restaurant occupies the roof of 133A Rye Lane, in the heart of Peckham. The space combines a generously glazed indoor room with a terrace filled with high tables and potted olive trees. As you can shelter inside without losing the view, it works whatever the season.
From the roof, the view stretches over the houses and shopping streets of Peckham to central London: on a clear day, the Shard and the City's skyscrapers stand out sharply on the horizon.
Sharing plates and natural wines
The food, which the team itself describes as “Italian-ish”, features seasonal sharing plates: cauliflower fritti with aioli, grilled flatbread, crispy polenta, fish or roast chicken leg. For a group, you can order the whole menu in one go, desserts included, for £130. The wine list favours natural and low-intervention producers, and cocktails (negroni, martini, spritz, frozen margarita) cost £10 to £13.
