Zlatá Praha: “Golden Prague” at the top of the Fairmont
A renovated Brutalist landmark
At the end of Pařížská street, the chic avenue of Josefov, on the banks of the Vltava, the former InterContinental hotel, built between 1968 and 1974, has reopened as the Fairmont Golden Prague after four years of works. The building has kept its Brutalist character and its 1970s spirit. Right at the top, nine floors above the city, the Zlatá Praha (“Golden Prague”) restaurant is the hotel's flagship venue.
Czech cuisine reinvented
Beneath gilded chandeliers, large picture windows frame the roofs and spires of the Old Town. The cuisine, led by chef Maroš Jambor, reinterprets traditional Czech flavours with seasonal produce and a contemporary approach, à la carte or as a tasting menu. The setting lends itself to celebratory dinners: booking is essential.
The Rooftop Terrace in summer
On the 9th floor, The Rooftop Terrace opens in the warmer months, from 4pm to 10pm. From its sofas, the view stretches over Pařížská street, the Faculty of Law and the lawns of Letná Park. Signature cocktails, wines, champagnes, oysters and caviar are served. The terrace is closed out of season and is due to reopen in summer 2027. All year round, the top floor is also home to Golden Eye, a Southeast Asian food and cocktail lounge facing the Vltava, open Tuesday to Saturday evenings.
