Facing the Astronomical Clock
The U Prince hotel occupies a historic house at number 29 on Old Town Square, directly opposite the Old Town Hall tower and its Astronomical Clock. Its terrace stretches across the 5th floor and is reached through the hotel entrance. From the tables, the view takes in the square, the two Gothic spires of Týn Church and the roofs of old Prague. Part of the terrace is covered and heated, so it can be enjoyed out of season too; in very bad weather, service may be adapted.
Access is reserved for restaurant and bar customers. Visitors who only wish to enjoy the flower-decked photo spot, the “bubblepointview”, pay an entrance fee that includes a glass of champagne.
From breakfast to last orders
The menu follows the day: breakfast from 9am to 11am (eggs Benedict with avocado, for example), then international cuisine at lunch and dinner, with meats grilled in the Josper oven, including a T-bone, spaghetti with king prawns or baked goat's cheese. Among the desserts, the “Orloj” pays tribute to the nearby clock. At the bar, spritzes, gin and tonics and classic cocktails sit alongside the Princ Julep, a house creation based on Becherovka devised for the hotel's opening in 2000. On summer days, a DJ livens up the terrace.
Book for the view
Capacity is limited and the tables facing the clock are in high demand all year round: booking is strongly recommended, although a specific table cannot be guaranteed. You can also come just for a drink, depending on availability. Mornings are calmer, evenings livelier.

Open daily from 9am to 11:30pm. Book online or on +420 739 609 779. Expect to pay around 230 Kč for a classic cocktail or a spritz. No strict dress code, but smart casual is recommended. The terrace can be booked privately for parties and corporate events. Nearest metro station: Staroměstská (line A), a few minutes' walk away.
