The tallest structure in Prague
Standing 216 metres tall, the Žižkov Television Tower dominates the district of the same name, east of the centre, from Mahlerovy sady park. It houses an observation deck, a hotel suite, several restaurants and, 66 metres above the ground, Oblaca, whose name evokes clouds in Czech. A lift takes you straight up. This is not a roof terrace: you sit indoors, in front of wide windows that reveal Prague on every side, from the castle to the hills that close off the horizon.

A restaurant with three Golden Lions
Since 2015, the restaurant has held three “Golden Lions” (Zlatý lev), the highest distinction in this Czech gastronomic ranking compiled by inspectors. Its modern cuisine favours the finest local produce and follows the seasons, à la carte or as a tasting menu. The wine cellar, located beneath the tower, is curated under the guidance of sommelier Milan Krejčí.
The bar and its world-tower cocktails
The tower is a member of the World Federation of Great Towers, and the Oblaca bar draws on this for a cocktail list paying tribute to eight famous towers, from the Eiffel Tower to the Empire State Building by way of the Burj Khalifa, not forgetting a selection of Negronis.

Restaurant open Monday from 5pm to midnight and Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to midnight; bar open Monday and Tuesday from 5pm to midnight, Wednesday to Sunday from 11am to midnight. Book on +420 210 320 086 or online; tables are reserved for two hours. Expect to pay 215 to 335 Kč for a cocktail. Smart casual dress at the very least is recommended.
