The BeerLab: Belgian beer on the roof of the Stock Exchange
At the top of a landmark
Built in the 19th century on Boulevard Anspach, the Bourse palace was long the temple of Brussels finance. Fully renovated, it now houses Belgian Beer World, an interactive journey through Belgian brewing culture, and, right at the top, The BeerLab. The bar occupies a room with floor-to-ceiling windows, extended by a vast terrace that wraps around the roof. You drink at the foot of the Bourse's sculpted dome, with the Gothic spire of the Town Hall straight ahead and the rooftops of the historic centre all around.
150 Belgian beers
The menu is a true tour of Belgium: 150 references from authentic Belgian breweries, 49 of them on tap, served in 33 cl measures. Abbey blondes, Trappists, tripels, lambics and krieks, fruit beers or a Brussels IPA: there is something for every taste, along with a few wines, prosecco and soft drinks. Visitors to Belgian Beer World receive a beer included in their ticket. The atmosphere is relaxed, sometimes with a DJ, and the air-conditioned room takes over when the weather turns.
Good to know
The bar does not take bookings: on sunny evenings the terrace seats go fast, so it is best to arrive early. The venue is accessible to people with reduced mobility and can be privatised for events.
