Café COOP: Brussels seen from the roof of a flour mill
A venue dedicated to the canal
On Quai Fernand Demets in Anderlecht, COOP occupies the former Moulart flour mill, founded in 1904 at the heart of the industrial district that lines the Brussels canal. Beautifully renovated, the building hosts a permanent exhibition, workshops and guided tours devoted to the history and life of the canal neighbourhoods, as well as meeting rooms and spaces for businesses.
A panoramic terrace over the Senne valley
At the very top, Café COOP extends its glazed dining room with a panoramic terrace of around 220 m², with wooden benches, planters and a pond. The view takes in the rooftops of Cureghem and Molenbeek, the canal and a large part of the city, in the Senne valley. The setting is just as suited to a lunch break as to remote working or studying, and the terrace can be booked for an after-work drink or a summer party for up to 140 guests.
A cafeteria with gentle prices
The menu stays simple: drinks, snacks, dishes of the day and soups prepared by hospitality specialists from the social economy, at affordable prices. You can pay by Bancontact or with meal vouchers. Groups are asked to book, stating the number of dishes of the day required. No cocktails and no evening service: this is a daytime address, ideal for a weekday lunch with a view.
