Sixteen floors above the 3rd district
Aurora sits at the top of the Hyatt Regency Vienna's tower, designed by architect Renzo Piano, just steps from the Belvedere park and Quartier Belvedere station. The bar has its own entrance and a lift that goes straight up to the 16th floor, some sixty metres above the ground. From up there, the view sweeps over Belvedere Palace all the way to the spire of St. Stephen's Cathedral and the hills of the Vienna Woods.
The décor borrows from the Nordic countries: pale wood, clean lines, furs and throws on the armchairs, and a fireplace that keeps the indoor lounge inviting even in winter. The spacious, wood-clad terrace fills up as soon as the weather turns fine, for aperitifs as well as at sunset.
Cocktails, small plates and brunch
The drinks list focuses on creations with a Scandinavian twist, the signature cocktail being the fresh, herbaceous Passionato Basil Smash. On the food side, small sharing plates pair Nordic flavours with seasonal Austrian produce. On Sundays, the team serves a buffet brunch with a live cooking station and desserts, overlooking the city. Several evenings a week, a DJ sets a lounge mood.
