On the roof of a former bank
The Bank Hotel occupies a late 19th-century building on Bankalar Caddesi, formerly Voyvoda Street, where the banks of the Ottoman Empire were concentrated, a stone's throw from the Galata Bridge. Right at the top, on the 7th floor, the Roof Bar spreads out a wooden terrace furnished with woven armchairs and parasols, extended by a covered area with stone walls. The view sweeps across the Golden Horn and the mouth of the Bosphorus to the historic peninsula, where Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque and Topkapı Palace stand out.
Cocktails that tell of a journey
The signature list follows the imaginary voyage of a safe across the Mediterranean and the Balkans, from Italy to Istanbul by way of Thessaloniki, Cairo, Sarajevo and Beirut, among others. Each stop inspires a drink: Pesto Bubbles with vodka, Aperol and basil, Green Spot with tequila and mezcal, The Bank Martini with whisky and coffee liqueur, or A Safe from the Bosphorus, with mezcal and ginger. Classics, a fine list of Turkish and international wines, champagnes and a few dishes to share, tacos, salads, burrata and desserts, complete the offering.
A terrace open all day
The Roof Bar welcomes hotel guests and visitors alike, from noon until late at night. To enjoy the sunset over the old city from a table at the edge of the terrace, it is best to book online; other seats are allocated according to availability.
