Seven Hills Restaurant: Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque in a single glance
A terrace in the heart of Sultanahmet
The Seven Hills Hotel is tucked away in a small street in Cankurtaran, the neighbourhood that slopes down from Sultanahmet towards the sea, in the Fatih district. Its roof is home to a terrace restaurant whose view has made its name: the dome and minarets of Hagia Sophia seem almost within reach, the Blue Mosque rises on the other side, and beyond the rooftops stretch the Sea of Marmara and the mouth of the Bosphorus. Topkapı Palace and the Basilica Cistern are only a few minutes' walk away. At sunrise as at sunset, photographers flock here.
Marmara fish and Turkish breakfast
The kitchen showcases fish caught in the Sea of Marmara, grilled or prepared Turkish-style, alongside meze, grilled meats, pasta and even sushi. In the morning, until noon, a village-style Turkish breakfast is served facing the two monuments: regional cheeses, olives, jams, honey and kaymak, menemen and unlimited tea. In the evening, the menu offers cocktails, rakı and a selection of wines.
All year round, indoors and out
The restaurant has an open-air terrace and an indoor dining room, so you can come in any season. A lift serves the roof. Booking is not compulsory but is still recommended to secure a table at the edge of the terrace at sunset.
