Terraza 1912: Plaza de San Francisco seen from above
Three levels on the roof of a five-star hotel
The Mercer Plaza Sevilla occupies a building on Plaza de San Francisco, one of the great squares of the centre, between City Hall and the Cathedral. You cross the hotel lobby to go up to its terrace, named 1912, which is laid out over three levels. A plunge pool and a sun deck are reserved for hotel guests; the rest of the terrace is also open to the public.
The décor mixes white balustrades, carved flame urns, parasols and palm trees. The view takes in the rooftops of the centre, with the Giralda and the Cathedral very close by, and Plaza de San Francisco and its façades below. At the end of the day, the sun sets over the Aljarafe, on the other side of the Guadalquivir.
Classic cocktails and refined snacks
The cocktail menu reinvents the great classics, all at €14, from the daiquiri to the manhattan, including a Sherry Mary made with fino. A long selection of gins, whiskies and sherry wines rounds out the offering. On the food side, the snack menu features bellota ham, Huelva prawn salad, homemade croquettes, sandwiches and a brioche with tuna tartare. The terrace can be booked in part or in full for events.
Practical information
The terrace bar is open every day from 4pm to 10pm; the guests-only plunge pool is open from 9am to 8pm. For a table at sunset, it is best to call the hotel. The T1 tram stops at Plaza Nueva, about 150 metres away.
