Terraza Doña María: face to face with the Giralda
A hotel terrace open to all
On calle Don Remondo, the Doña María hotel occupies a former palatial house a stone's throw from Plaza Virgen de los Reyes. On its roof, the terrace bar is open to the public, although the small pool next to it is reserved for hotel guests. The space is divided into three areas, each able to hold from fifty to around a hundred people.
The show is right opposite: the Giralda rises on the other side of the rooftops, with the bulk of the Cathedral at its feet and, further away, the domes of the Church of El Salvador. By day, the tower stands out against the blue sky; after dark, it lights up and dominates the terrace. The terrace stays open all year round.
Signature cocktails and Andalusian produce
The drinks list is long: some twenty gins, classic cocktails between €12 and €14.50 and house creations such as the Giralda Sour or the Doña Margarita with mezcal. To go with them, you can pick from a selection of local produce: Iberian bellota ham, an assortment of Andalusian cheeses, small plates to share. The terrace also hosts private events, from birthdays to corporate cocktail parties.
Practical information
Open every day of the year, from 1pm to 1am; the terrace closes temporarily when it rains. Online booking is recommended; otherwise tables are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The pool, open from 15 April to 30 September, is reserved for hotel guests. T1 tram: Archivo de Indias stop, about 270 metres away.
