The four-star Vincci Larios Diez hotel occupies number 10 calle Marqués de Larios, Malaga's main pedestrianised shopping street. Its 6th and top floor is home to El Taller de Larios 10, a restaurant open to everyone, reached through the hotel entrance and then by lift.
The space is divided between a dining room with large picture windows and an open-air terrace lined with high tables. Above the tiled roofs of the historic centre rises the Cathedral tower, nicknamed la Manquita, with Gibralfaro hill and the mountains as a backdrop. In the evening, the illuminated façade of the Cathedral steals the show.
Seasonal cuisine and cocktails
The menu changes with the seasons and showcases local produce. The autumn menu offers Iberian ham and gambas pil pil croquettes (€16), corvina ceviche, Galician beef steak tartare (€25), lasagne with Malaga goat's cheese béchamel, grilled octopus with Malaga wine (€28) or Iberian presa cooked at low temperature. For an aperitif, almost all the cocktails cost €12, from spritzes to the Málaga Sour made with a sweet Malaga wine, and the Signature 25 cocktail, created for the hotel group's twenty-fifth anniversary, costs €15. Mocktails at €10, house sangria at €8, beers, wines by the glass and spirits round out the offering. The restaurant and terrace can be booked for private events.
Practical information
The restaurant is open every day from 1.30pm to 11pm, with bar service until 1am. Booking is recommended for dinner, especially at weekends; it can be made online or by phone. Metro lines 1 and 2: Atarazanas station, about 250 metres away.
