A roof on the Perchel side
The Sallés Málaga Centro hotel stands on calle Mármoles, in the El Perchel district, on the west bank of the Guadalmedina, a few minutes' walk from the historic centre. Its roof terrace, named Áurea Rooftop, brings together a bar, tables, a chill-out area and a small pool reserved for hotel guests.
The distance provided by the river is its trump card: the view takes in the Cathedral and its bell tower, Gibralfaro hill with the Alcazaba, the cranes and the big wheel of the port, above the rooftops of the centre. At sunset, the whole old town stands out in silhouette opposite the terrace.
From lunch to evening events
At lunchtime, the menu focuses on simple dishes: salads at around €16, tostas, sandwiches from €14.50 to €16, a wagyu burger at €20, patatas bravas at €10 or an assortment of tapas at €19.90. In the evening, it is time for after-work drinks, tapas and cocktails. The hotel regularly holds concerts and cultural events on the terrace. A "VIP Corner", to be booked at reception, offers a double sun lounger in the best-placed corner, with a bottle of champagne and fresh fruit.
Practical information
The terrace is open every day from noon to midnight, all year round: patio heaters take over during the cooler months. The pool is reserved for hotel guests. Metro lines 1 and 2: Atarazanas station, about 550 metres away, and Guadalmedina station, about 700 metres away.
