A garden on the roof of the Aria Hotel
The Aria Hotel, a luxury hotel whose entire decor pays tribute to music, occupies a building on Hercegprímás utca, in the Lipótváros district. On its roof, High Note SkyBar takes the form of a hanging garden: wooden decks, shrubs, wicker armchairs and yellow cushions. The view is striking, as the dome and the two bell towers of St Stephen's Basilica seem within arm's reach, while the eye travels on to the Royal Palace and the Buda Hills. In 2018, Condé Nast Traveller named it among the ten most beautiful rooftops in the world.
Cocktails and bar food
The mixologists create themed menus, including one inspired by Hungarian folklore, alongside a selection of house classics, premium gin and tonics and alcohol-free cocktails. You can also dine here: tapas, mains and desserts are served until 10:30pm. Since 2025, a champagne bar perched just above the skybar has completed the picture, and a terrace in Veuve Clicquot colours welcomes lovers of bubbles.
Panoramic tables and terraces
Access to the bar and terraces is free, with no entrance fee. The three tables on the panoramic terraces, set in a tower, can be booked with a minimum spend of 80,000 Ft per hour per table (up to eight people); at the champagne bar, the minimum is 15,000 Ft per person per hour. At weekends the venue is often fully booked, so it is best to reserve. Small and medium-sized dogs are welcome, and the whole skybar, apart from the panoramic terraces, is wheelchair accessible.
Practical information
Open all year round, Monday to Thursday from 4pm to midnight and Friday to Sunday from 2pm to midnight. Signature cocktails cost between 5,500 and 5,900 Ft; a 15% service charge is added to the bill.
