The 26th floor of the Radisson Blu
The Radisson Blu tower overlooks the Planten un Blomen park and the congress centre, a stone's throw from Dammtor station. At the very top, on the 26th floor and 118 metres above the ground, TWOSIX has taken over from the former Weinbar 26. From the picture windows and the terrace, the view reaches the two basins of the Alster, the church spires of the old town and, further off, the port and the Elbphilharmonie. On the terrace, decked in wood and edged with glass, there are high tables, a few potted palms and even a Strandkorb, the beach chair typical of northern Germany.
26 gins, 26 wines
The name plays on the number 26: that of the floor, but also of the gins and wines on offer. The gins, from Germany and elsewhere, are served neat or as a gin and tonic, with a “gin of the month” recommended by the team; expect €12.50 to €15 for the gin, plus the tonic. The wines come mainly from German estates, with a few natural wines, from €9.50 to €15.50 for a 20 cl glass. Until 10pm, the kitchen serves small Mediterranean- and Middle Eastern-inspired sharing plates (hummus, falafel, skewers, tuna tartare), as well as a few mains and desserts.
The venue hosts afterwork events, corporate parties and Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve celebrations, and children are welcome, with a menu of their own.
Practical information
Open Tuesday to Thursday from 5pm to midnight, Friday and Saturday from 5pm to 1am; closed Sunday and Monday. Last entry half an hour before closing. Booking is not compulsory but recommended for window or terrace seats (online or by phone). Access through the hotel entrance, then by lift; a few steps in the room, which is not wheelchair accessible. Dammtor station (S-Bahn and regional trains) next door, U-Bahn Stephansplatz (U1) a few minutes away.
