Le Sucre: the party rooftop of Confluence
A rooftop on a former industrial building
On quai Rambaud, La Sucrière is a former 1930s industrial building on the banks of the Saône, in the Confluence district. Since 2013, its roof has been home to Le Sucre, a 780-capacity venue that is by turns a panoramic bar, concert hall and club. It has been awarded the “Club Culture” label by the French Ministry of Culture, which recognises venues for artistic expression and partying.
An open view over the Saône
From the terrace, the view plunges down to the Saône and the wooded hill on the opposite bank, and stretches almost 360° across the Confluence district. At the end of the day, the low light on the water gives the place a special atmosphere, much loved for aperitifs with friends.
Aperitifs, concerts and electronic nights
From April to October, the Magic Mardi take over the rooftop every Tuesday from 6pm to 1am, with free entry. On Sundays, the S.society sessions pick up the baton from 6pm to midnight. On Fridays and Saturdays, Le Sucre turns into a club from 11pm to 5am, with a cutting-edge DJ line-up and paid entry, usually between €12 and €16. Concerts also punctuate the calendar throughout the year.
The venue can also be hired for corporate parties, conferences or receptions, for up to 550 guests standing.
Practical information
Le Sucre is served by tram T1 (Hôtel de Région stop), bus S1 (La Sucrière stop) and the Vaporetto (Confluence stop). The venue and its terrace are accessible to people with disabilities. Original ID is required at the door.
To experience Lyon's rooftops in party mode, with the Saône as a backdrop, Le Sucre remains an essential reference.
