Le Rooftop Têtedoie: Lyon at your feet from Fourvière
A terrace at the top of the Têtedoie house
On the Fourvière hill, in the Antiquaille quarter, the house of chef Christian Têtedoie, a Meilleur Ouvrier de France, brings together three restaurants: a starred fine-dining restaurant, a bistro open all year round and, at the very top of the building, Le Rooftop. Formerly known as Les Terrasses de l'Antiquaille, this summer terrace is sheltered by a louvred pergola and shade sails, and edged with a glass balustrade that keeps the view completely unobstructed.
A panorama over the whole city
The view plunges onto the red roofs of Vieux-Lyon, crosses the Saône and sweeps across the Presqu'île to the towers of Part-Dieu, standing out on the horizon. Perched on the hillside, the rooftop offers one of the most complete views of Lyon, to be enjoyed at lunch as well as dinner.
Summer cuisine
Le Rooftop's menu focuses on seasonal cooking and the barbecue, including a rib of beef to share. The Rooftop menu is priced at €67 excluding drinks; on weekday lunchtimes, a set lunch is served at €32 for two courses or €42 for three. Wines by the glass and cocktails round off the experience.
Practical information
Le Rooftop is open from April to September, every day, from noon to 1.30pm and from 7pm to 9.30pm. Bookings can be made online or by phone. The easiest way to get there is to take metro line D to Vieux-Lyon, then the funicular to Minimes station. The venue is wheelchair accessible.
For an open-air meal with all of Lyon as a backdrop, signed by one of the city's iconic chefs, Le Rooftop Têtedoie is a top choice for the summer season.
