The Rooftop at The Standard: face to face with St Pancras
A summer terrace atop a former Brutalist building
The Standard, London occupies a former Brutalist building in King's Cross, directly opposite St Pancras International station. Its rooftop spreads across the 11th floor: a carpet of artificial grass, brightly coloured sofas and armchairs, parasols, and a clear view all around the building. On one side, the clock and the Gothic Revival spires of St Pancras rise just a stone's throw away; on the other, your gaze carries towards the towers of the City and the silhouette of the Shard.
On the façade, a red external lift, the hotel's signature, serves the Decimo restaurant on the 10th floor.
Spritzes, fizz on tap and DJs
The menu focuses on house cocktails and fizz served on tap, with a few snacks to go with your aperitif. In the 2026 season, the line-up included a pickle-juice spritz and a frozen paloma, at around £15 a cocktail, a hot dog food truck and DJs playing Afrobeats and house. Dogs were also welcome on the roof.
Out of season, the hotel keeps two high-up venues open all year round: Decimo, a Mexican restaurant with wood-fired cooking on the 10th floor, behind large picture windows, and Sweeties, a cocktail bar and late-night lounge with views over the city.
Practical information
The rooftop is seasonal: it opens when the warmer weather arrives and closes in autumn. It is currently closed, with its reopening announced for April 2027. In 2026, it welcomed guests Monday to Wednesday from 4pm to 9pm, Thursday and Friday from 3pm to 9pm, and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 9pm; hours may change from one season to the next. Bookings are made online. King's Cross St. Pancras Tube station (Northern, Piccadilly, Victoria, Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines) is a stone's throw away.
