Tramonto: Italy on the rooftops of Carlsberg
In the former Carlsberg brewery
South-west of the centre, the former Carlsberg brewery site has become a neighbourhood in its own right, Carlsberg Byen, where industrial brick buildings stand alongside new blocks. Hotel Ottilia, a 155-room hotel belonging to the Brøchner group, has moved into two of the brewery's historic buildings, and Tramonto sits on its top floor. From the terrace, the view takes in the towers and rooftops of the old brewery, the fast-changing neighbourhood and, further off, Vesterbro.
An Italian restaurant with a view
The restaurant describes its food as classic Italian cuisine reinvented with a touch of daring: antipasti, primi, secondi and dolci are ordered à la carte, and a seasonal menu and a vegetarian set menu round out the offer, accompanied by an extensive wine list. The dining room, opening onto the city through large picture windows, takes on golden hues at sunset.
The bar and the terrace
Outside, the terrace lines up lounge areas, high tables and sheltered corners, with a hop garden and an outdoor fireplace. People come here for a drink after work or before dinner: spritz, classics such as the Old Fashioned, the Whiskey Sour or the Negroni, house cocktails and prosecco, with a few Italian snacks. The venue also hosts events and private parties.
