Hotel Danmark Rooftop: facing the City Hall tower
A boutique hotel in the cultural quarter
Hotel Danmark, a boutique hotel belonging to the Danish group Brøchner, occupies two historic buildings dating from 1791 and 1969, in the cultural quarter of the centre, near the Thorvaldsen Museum. City Hall Square (Rådhuspladsen) is a five-minute walk away and the Tivoli Gardens are just around the corner. The hotel has 89 rooms and suites, a lobby bar, an indoor “vineyard” with a fireplace and black marble floors, a courtyard and, right at the top, its terrace.
The Rooftop, on the 7th floor
Simply named The Rooftop, the wooden terrace on the 7th floor is open to all, hotel guests or not. Its outdoor lounges and high tables face the brick tower of the nearby City Hall, while the view runs across the rooftops, domes and spires of the centre. People come up for cocktails and cold drinks in an intimate atmosphere.
Bubbles and house products
The hotel bar's signature is a “bubble bar”, from cava to champagne, along with a few products created for the group: an unfiltered pilsner brewed with Jacobsen (Carlsberg), Portuguese “ONE” wines and a gin, Wilderness Gin, made with plants from Danish nature. Hotel guests are invited every day to a “Wine Hour” (5pm-6pm) and a “Nightcap Hour” (10pm-11pm).
