ILLUM Rooftop: restaurants and a terrace on the rooftops of Strøget
At the top of a historic department store
On Amagertorv, the square that cuts the long pedestrian street Strøget in two, the ILLUM department store is a Copenhagen shopping institution. Its 4th and top floor has been transformed into ILLUM Rooftop: a space covered by a glass roof, shared between several restaurants, bars and cafés, and extended by a terrace from which you can take in the rooftops, spires and historic façades of the centre.
Several venues under one roof
There is something for everyone. Skagen Fiskerestaurant, which comes from the port of Skagen at the northern tip of Jutland, serves fish and seafood, including oysters and mussels. Rossopomodoro focuses on Neapolitan pizzas and pasta, with a happy hour on cocktails. Panorama offers brunch, cocktails and bistro classics, Poke & Sons serves poke bowls, bao and gyozas to enjoy inside or on the terrace, and Original Coffee runs two cafés for a break with cakes and sandwiches.
A break in the middle of your shopping
The place lends itself to lunch between shops, a drink on the terrace in the sun or dinner with a view of the old town. In the evening, when the store closes, the rooftop stays open a little later. At Rossopomodoro, happy hour (two cocktails for the price of one) runs from Sunday to Friday, from 3pm to 6pm.
