Lila29: Brussels from the 29th floor
The top of The Standard
Set in a tower on Boulevard du Roi Albert II, in the heart of the Northern Quarter, The Standard, Brussels has put its restaurant and bar right at the top, on the 29th floor. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame the entire city: the rooftops of the centre, the towers of the Northern Quarter and, on clear days, the Koekelberg Basilica. The room plays on retro décor, with curved banquettes, copper-toned curtains and varnished wood, while a large covered terrace dotted with plants extends the space outdoors.
Iberian flavours and cocktails
The cooking takes its cue from Spain and is made for sharing: pan con tomate, Iberian ham, croquetas, piquillo peppers, grilled squid with chorizo or dry-aged rib steak. At the bar, house cocktails put a spin on the classics with gin, tequila or rum, and a short alcohol-free list completes the offer. When the weather allows, pre-dinner drinks are served on the terrace from 5pm, before dinner service begins.
Late nights and events
Every Saturday night, Late Nights turn the venue into a music lounge, with a DJ from 9pm to 1am. A private dining room with terrace access seats up to 18 guests, and the whole restaurant can be booked out depending on availability. Large groups coming only for drinks cannot be accommodated, and the venue does not admit dogs or children under 16.
