Spyglass: the Empire State Building right across the way
A hotel rooftop in the Garment District
On 38th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, the Archer Hotel occupies a tower in the Garment District, a few blocks from Bryant Park and Times Square. Its Spyglass bar sits on the 22nd floor and draws hotel guests and New Yorkers alike.
The decor recalls the New York chic of the 1940s and 1950s. Glass doors open the central bar onto the terrace, which is complemented by two side terraces, east and west. The big draw is the Empire State Building, close by to the southeast, which lights up at nightfall. Part of the space is covered, so you can come year-round.
Cocktails, small plates and brunch
The evening menu features house cocktails from $20 to $22, wines by the glass and a few beers, along with plates to share: fries, calamari, chicken wings, a burger, a charcuterie and cheese board, and pizzas. On Saturdays and Sundays, brunch is served from 11am to 3pm. The terraces and the lounge can be booked for events.
