Bar 54: cocktails on the 54th floor above Times Square
A lounge and a terrace at the top of the hotel
The Hyatt Centric Times Square, on West 45th Street between Sixth and Seventh Avenues, saves its top floor for Bar 54. The elevator whisks you up to the 54th floor, where a lounge with big picture windows opens onto a terrace of about 130 square meters, clad in wood, with leather banquettes and outdoor fireplaces. The glass walls let the view sweep across Midtown and Lower Manhattan, from the East River to the Hudson, with the bustle of Times Square far below.
It's a handy spot before a Broadway show, after a day of sightseeing, or simply to watch the city light up at sunset.
A New York–inspired cocktail menu
The signature cocktails, at $25, draw on the city's many cultures and cuisines and change with the seasons; you can also treat yourself to an old fashioned flight for $50, or just keep it simple with a beer, a glass of wine or Champagne. A small-plates menu, served from 5pm to 11pm, goes with the drinks. The bar hosts private and semi-private events, and throws a ticketed New Year's Eve party with a view of the Times Square ball drop.
