Harriet's Rooftop: face to face with the Brooklyn Bridge
A rooftop on the East River
1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge sits at the entrance to Brooklyn Bridge Park, right at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge. Its roof, on the 11th floor, is home to Harriet's Rooftop: a big terrace furnished with wooden sofas and armchairs and dotted with plants, with a covered outdoor bar. Out front, the panorama takes in the Brooklyn Bridge, the Lower Manhattan skyscrapers including One World Trade Center and, farther off, the Statue of Liberty.
The roof also has a small pool. Its loungers are reserved for hotel guests, but bookable “Sky Swim Lounge” tables let other visitors enjoy it too.
Sustainable cocktails and food to share
The bar repurposes citrus peels and coffee grounds for its infusions and works with breweries and distilleries less than 100 miles away. Expect to pay $25 to $31 for a cocktail. The kitchen turns out Asian-inspired plates: edamame, tuna crudo, wagyu tartare, bao and sliders, plus an oyster bar and caviar. Afternoons are fairly mellow; at night, the place takes on a club vibe, and themed parties liven up the weekend. The roof can be booked for private events of up to 350 guests.
