Electric Lemon: Hudson Yards from the 24th floor
The Equinox Hotel's restaurant
The first hotel from fitness-club brand Equinox occupies a tower in Hudson Yards, the business district built west of Midtown, over the railroad tracks. Its restaurant, Electric Lemon, run by Starr Restaurants, is on the 24th floor. The understated, elegant dining room, with a fireplace and high ceilings, is lined with floor-to-ceiling windows.
The real draw is outside: a terrace of about 8,000 square feet, with a reflecting pool, fire pits and sculptures by Jaume Plensa. From there you can see the Hudson, the Hudson Yards towers and the train yard below. At sunset, the terrace is in high demand.
Seasonal cooking and cocktails
The menu showcases produce from regional farms: crudos, oysters, beef tartare, lemon and bottarga spaghetti, farm-raised chicken, fish, and a house cheeseburger. In the morning, breakfast is served on weekdays, with brunch on Saturday and Sunday.
At the bar, house cocktails run about $20 to $25, with a few zero-proof options. A private dining room seats up to 50 guests for groups and events.
