SOHO: cocktails and tapas on a Zürich-West rooftop

A roof at the heart of Kreis 5

SOHO has set up on the 5th floor of a building on the Hardstrasse, between Hardbrücke station and the Escher-Wyss-Platz, in the former industrial district of Zürich-West, now a hotspot for nights out. The floor brings together a long air-conditioned indoor bar, a large room with moss-covered ceilings and a roof terrace.

Outside, the decor relies on wood, potted plants, banquettes and wicker pendant lights. The view sweeps over the rooftops of Zürich-West, with the glass silhouette of the Prime Tower as a backdrop: an urban panorama rather than a postcard view of the lake.

Cocktails, tapas and nights out

The cocktail menu mixes classics and creations: americano at CHF 15, espresso martini and penicillin at CHF 16, boulevardier at CHF 17, or the SOHO Boho, with gin, yuzu sake and matcha. Alcohol-free cocktails cost CHF 11 to 12, beers CHF 7.50 to 9.50 and a glass of prosecco CHF 9.50. In the kitchen, tapas and grilled dishes: salads, tacos, fig and goat's cheese bruschetta or veal tartare, between CHF 16.50 and 26.50. On Friday and especially Saturday, the evening goes on late and the place takes on a club atmosphere.

Practical information

Open Tuesday to Thursday from 5pm to midnight, Friday from 5pm to 2am and Saturday from 6pm to 4am; closed on Sunday and Monday. Online booking. The Schiffbau tram stop is around a hundred metres away, Hardbrücke S-Bahn station a few minutes' walk. SOHO also hosts private parties and corporate events: it is best to check before you come to make sure the floor has not been booked for a private event.
