Clouds: Zurich from 120 metres, at the top of the Prime Tower

At the very top of Zürich-West

Standing 126 metres tall, the Prime Tower rises in the former industrial district of Zürich-West, in Kreis 5, a stone's throw from Hardbrücke station. A lift speeds up to the 35th floor, where Clouds occupies a glazed floor 120 metres up. There is no open-air terrace: you enjoy the scenery under cover, behind the windows, whatever the season.

The panorama takes in the city's rooftops, Lake Zurich and, when the sky is clear, the chain of the Alps. Coming at the end of the day lets you watch the city move from the evening light to its night-time illuminations.

Restaurant, bistro and bar

The Clouds Kitchen serves seasonal cuisine: business menus at lunchtime on weekdays, dinner in the evening, and brunch on Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 3pm, at CHF 79 per adult. More relaxed, the Bistro offers simple dishes and classics throughout the day. At the bar, extended by a smoking lounge where you can choose cigars, whiskies and cognacs, cocktails cost CHF 21 to 23: house negroni, Tommy's margarita, coffee old fashioned or creations made with Clouds gin, distilled for the house. Alcohol-free cocktails range from CHF 16 to 21, and gin tastings are also on the programme.

Practical information

The bar opens in the evening and the Bistro from late morning on weekdays; opening hours vary from day to day, so it is best to check them before you come. Online booking is recommended for the restaurant, the bistro and the brunch; private rooms host business meals and parties. Tram 8 to the Schiffbau stop, bus 33 or 72 to Hardbrücke, or S-Bahn to Hardbrücke station; covered car parks nearby. Pets are not allowed.
