OOO Rooftop: above the Bahnhofstrasse

One lift, six floors, one terrace

The restaurant's only sign is three dots, “• • •”, transcribed as OOO. It occupies the top level of the Modissa fashion house building, on the Bahnhofstrasse, in Kreis 1, a few minutes' walk from the main station. You reach it through a separate entrance on the Uraniastrasse, then a lift that goes straight up to the sixth floor. The warm-toned dining room, with its large pendant lights and circular bar, opens onto a terrace that wraps around the floor: in fine weather, you settle in under the white parasols to watch the crowds on the Bahnhofstrasse and the rooftops of the centre.

Dumplings and cocktails

The menu travels between Asia and fusion cuisine, à la carte, for sharing or as a set menu; the dumplings arrive in bamboo baskets, on a trolley. At the bar, house creations cost CHF 18 to 25, from the Osaka Spritz with limoncello and basil at CHF 18 to the white rum and peach sour at CHF 24; alcohol-free cocktails cost CHF 16 to 18 and the beer from Einsiedeln CHF 6.50 for 3 dl. On Sunday, a brunch takes over, with pastries, eggs, cheeses and a champagne package.

Practical information

Open every day, with brunch on Sunday; opening hours vary from day to day, so it is best to check them before you come. Bookings are made online or by phone, and the venue can be hired for a party or a corporate event. The terrace only opens in fine weather. Tram to the Rennweg stop, or a few minutes' walk from the main station.
