A rooftop facing Torre Glòries
The Hoxton, Poblenou stands at number 205 Avinguda Diagonal, right next to Torre Glòries, in the Poblenou neighbourhood. On its roof, Tope combines a terrace open to everyone and a pool lined with cabanas. The view takes in the Sagrada Família on one side and the sea on the other, while Torre Glòries rises directly opposite, across the Diagonal. The pool itself is reserved for hotel guests: from 11am, loungers can be booked for €40 and cabanas for €80, fully redeemable on food and drinks.
A Mexican-inspired taqueria
The food takes its cue from Mexico: totopos and guacamole, shrimp aguachile, red tuna tostada, sweet potato ceviche, chilaquiles, then tacos al pastor, quesabirria or mushroom and huitlacoche tacos, from €9.50 to €16. In the morning, a Mexican breakfast is served from 10am to noon. At the bar, the Tope Margarita costs €14, and most of the tequila, mezcal or rum cocktails are between €13 and €19; frozen cocktails start at €10 and a half of Estrella on draught costs €4. Dogs are welcome on the Tope terrace, but not around the pool.
Practical information
The rooftop opens from 10am and closes at 11pm, or 1am on Fridays and Saturdays; opening days vary with the season, with closures on Mondays and Tuesdays in the low season. No entry fee, booking or minimum spend: just go up, and only groups of 10 or more book ahead. Getting there: Glòries metro (line 1), a minute's walk away; on-site parking, entrance on Carrer de Badajoz.
