Terraza de Vivi: the Gothic Quarter at bell-tower height
A rooftop facing the cathedral
The Kimpton Vividora is tucked away on Carrer del Duc, a small street in the Barri Gòtic, a few steps from the cathedral and a few minutes from La Rambla. At the top of the hotel, on the seventh floor, the Terraza de Vivi lines up pink banquettes, bistro tables and wicker pendant lights beneath a pergola. All around are the rooftops of the old town: the spire of Barcelona Cathedral seems very close, and the panorama stretches from the Sagrada Família to Montjuïc.
Brunch, tardeo and cocktails
The terrace has made a name for itself with its brunch, served every day from noon to 4pm: €36 with a selection of juices, or €42 with an hour and a half of free-flowing mimosas and bloody marys. In the afternoon and evening, it is time for sharing plates: croquettes, bravas, oysters, poke bowl, smash burger or lobster roll. The cocktails revisit the great classics from the history of mixology and all cost €16; the house alcoholic granitas are €14.
Dogs welcome
Pets are allowed on the terrace, and the house even offers them specially prepared menus. The roof is also home to a pool surrounded by sun loungers and sofas.
Practical information
The Terraza de Vivi is open every day from noon to 11pm, with the kitchen closing at 10.30pm. Bookings can be made online or by phone and are recommended, as space is limited. Catalunya metro (lines L1 and L3) is about a five-minute walk away.
A convivial rooftop for rising above it all in the heart of the Gothic Quarter.
